SWEET SUMMER STAYCATION: GAYLORD OPRYLAND RESORT

Living in Nashville is typically an adventure, especially when you live in the city as Mr. Sweet and I do. However, we’ve had to modify life amidst current times, so we don’t make it out to do all the fun things we used to do in Nashville. A staycation at Gaylord Opryland Resort was calling our names, so we did just that, and I’m telling you all about it in this blog post. Opryland was the perfect place as it has everything you need on-site and an outlet mall within walking distance. Whether you’re a millennial couple like a family or us, there is plenty of space to enjoy a socially distanced and entertaining staycation or vacation for those of you traveling.

Accommodations:

Our Sweet Suite was the romantic getaway we needed. When we travel, we love staying in apartment-style getaways or suite’s to stretch out and make space our own during our time away. Opryland’s rooms are incredibly comfortable and equipped for you to dine in your room, hang out in your living room, or rest in bed! I loved sitting by the fireplace with Mr.Sweet talking about our world and all we wanted to do in it. I also loved gazing out of our floor to ceiling windows out at the Magnolia Gardens. In the morning, the beautiful scenes of nature greet you as soon as you roll back the curtains. In the evening, we stood in the window and gazed at the large sculptures and lights hanging throughout the gardens.

Dining:

Generally speaking, resorts can have some pretty expensive food options. The excellent part about Opryland is that they have more luxurious food options, but they also have some fast market and affordable food options. Paisano’s Pizzeria & Vino is serving up slices straight out of a Parisian themed movie. It’s not to mention that it’s in the middle of the Delta Marketplace, and it looks like just like it’s own little city.

The Cascades American Cafe has a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that you will enjoy. We enjoyed the beautiful location in the middle of the Cascades. It was like experiencing a five-star meal while on a movie set.

Delta River Boat Tour:

The resort is enormous, and there will be a lot of walking. Take a break from walking and learn some fun facts about the resort as you take a quick trip down the Delta River! Yes, you read that correctly, you can ride a boat through the conservatory! It’s a calm version of Jumanji during the day or a romantic stroll through the lights and water show at night.

Relâche Spa:

I enjoyed a deep tissue massage at the Spa! While most of the amenities, including the sauna and steam rooms, are closed due to Covid-19, they are still doing incredible services while taking the necessary precautions.

Soundwaves Experience:

A day in the sun is healing in and of itself. Soundwaves is more than a waterpark. It’s the beach nearby. It’s the cabana for the parents who want to let the kids roam, but have a set location to meet up. It’s an indoor or outdoor oasis for your preference of water festivities. It’s a float down the Down Tempo Lazy River or a trip down the Up-Tempo Rapids River.

Discounts for the SoundWaves Experience Package:

  • Davidson County Residents receive up to 40% off on select dates with code L9Z.
  • Tennessee Residents receive up to 25% off select dates within code M16. Proof of residency required at check-in.
