If you’re looking for a reasonably priced music festival full of industry headliners, Beale Street Music Festival is your one stop shop. The delicious carnival style food, local artisans and mighty Mississippi river rolling by leave you feeling like you’ve checked a number off of your bucket list. This year’s line up included Eryka Badu, Young Dolph, Juicy J, Tyler the Creator, Tank and the Bangas, Dram, Post Malone, Odessa and so many more. Best of all, it featured my sister Valerie June! Rocking the River Stage in her radically, sparkly ensemble for the 2018 festival was a true testament to how far she’s come with her music career. It was just 2012 when she was playing at Beale Street Music Festival on a smaller stage under a tent. Just year’s before that she was playing at local coffee shops. Watching an artist like Valerie evolve is a neat experience to say the least. It’s purely inspirational.
