HOLIDAY SEASON MEANS GAME NIGHT MUST COMMENCE – NEW GAME SUGGESTION INSIDE!

As adults, we can easily forget to simply play. We get so distracted by the logistics of life that we don’t schedule any time to just let our guards down and amuse oneself. The good news is most board games, card games and more offer more than just some fun relief from everyday activity. They offer lessons or elicit stories that one may not have otherwise known. That’s exactly what happened at this year’s Halloween Party!

The evening started with everyone waltzing into our home in their most creative costumes. My husband had made a playlist of Halloween/ Thriller tunes! I had decorated every aspect of our house from the door to the windows to the plates that we served refreshments on. The two of us should be professional party planners for the way we set the tone of our “Game Night” themed party.

As guest settled in, we introduced them to a new game called: “Tip-Off”. The game is much like Taboo, except it’s a description guessing game of questions relative to African Americans. Each player downloads the app. The host creates an official game for all guests in the app. Then, the app does the rest of the work. It proposes the questions. It sets up teams. It notifies both the player and the opponent of any game happenings. It also uses terminology that will have you on the floor laughing! There are propositions that bring memories and some that teach African American History, past and present. Hands down, this game is entertaining!

The multi-player game can be played in-person or remotely. Users will divide into teams and enter a game room to take turns TIPping each other OFF to the keyword without saying any of the 5 words listed on the card. Each team member has a turn as the “PLAYER” and as the “HATER”.  Isn’t that hilarious!  I told you the terminology was funny.  The player describes the keyword while the hater guards the player on each card to make sure they do not violate the rules.

To invite some fun, laughs and learning into your life, I encourage you to download the game NOW: http://tipoffgame.com/

As we go into Holiday season, don’t forget to be a kid again!  Enjoy the kicks and giggles and let the games begin! Better yet, there are many health benefits of playing games!  Those include:
