Ever go home to your parent’s house for the weekend, and the walls are lined with all your old stuff or stay at a close friend’s house, and the guest room is also a storage room! Well, that’s what we try to avoid in our place! Mr.Sweet and I are minimalist in every facet of the way when it comes to certain aspects of our home.
Though we’re not entertaining anyone at current, we still wanted to make sure the space is welcoming and comfy for any family or friends who may stop in. We chose neutral colors to update our new space. While our guestroom is no large suite, we still decided to place Novagratz matching gray velvet furniture in the room. The Novogratz Teresa Memory Foam Chair and the Z by Novogratz Taylor Upholstered Bed gave it a cohesive feel. Moreover, adding velvet to any room gives it a hint of luxury and comfort. We also chose gray to accompany the neutral feeling of the space.
When our guests do come, the room will serve as a nice place to rest because it’s not busy and packed with our belongings. The room is also a budget-friendly room that one can easily find in Target. I’ve linked everything below.
Farmhouse Seersucker Comforter – Lush Décor was under $200.
Euro Solid Ruched Faux Fur Throw Pillow – Threshold™ was $30
Taylor Velvet Upholstered Bed – Z By Novogratz was under $200
Teresa Tufted Accent Chair – Novogratz was under $350
This story’s moral is that you can upgrade your guest room with a few new pieces that do not break the bank, yet look and feel like a luxury. I might even spend more time in here. There’s no need to clutter up the room with a bunch of random decors when you accentuate the room with the right pieces. Just add some good books and magazines to the mix, and you are ready to host a sweet dream.
